girl, stop appologizing - by Rachel Hollis
You may have started reading this book, or it may be hibernating for the summer in your night stand. I want to encourage you to read it!
If you do not have it, swing by Barnes and Noble today https://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/girl%20stop%20apologizing
or download it off of amazon https://www.amazon.com/Girl-Stop-Apologizing/dp/B07FSTP9WQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=rachel+hollis&qid=1566172575&s=gateway&sr=8-1
trust me it's worth the read and it's an easy read!
funny story: my hubby broke his leg at the beginning of the year...that's not the funny part... but ouch! i know right?! Well, he's a pretty active guy, we got him one of those knee scooters and in no time he was able to clean the house, do the dishes, and fold the laundry lol! anyways, he'd probably kill me for telling this story, but better to ask for forgiveness, than for permission. (pretty sure Ryan has told me that once or twice.) Before I left for my shoot that day he was rolling around the house on his scooter looking for reading material. By this time he had watched almost everything on Netflix and almost reached the end of the internet. I had my bag on my shoulder and my hand on the door knob when he asked, "Do you have any books I could read?" I let go of the door knob, held in my smirk, and replied, "Why yes, yes I do." Little did he know I had recently purchased Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis (not like hubby knows what I'm buying on Amazon anyway). I had not had the chance to dive in and my copy had been hibernating in my night stand. *I read Girl, Wash Your Face back in 2018 so naturally when Rachel's next book came out I had to get it.* I started walking back with the book in hand and expected him to read the cover, laugh and set it down. But to my surprise he actually took it from my hand, wheeled over the couch and started to read it.
I created a monster... I did not even get to my studio and I had three text messages from him...
Hubby: Discussion Topics:
Hubby: umm... can we create a goal board?
Hubby: does what other ppl think matter... Ever?
Followed by the next series of text messages:
Hubby: of course she would quote a Beyonce song, middle fingers up
Hubby: dont really agree with some of the things she's saying but...
Hubby: we should read this book together, you're gonna have to catch up!
Hubby: there's a topic in here she brings up, that I totally agree with, but I think most people would disagree...
me: cleaning up now, be on way home soon
He finished the book by day two and spoiled every chapter before I got to read it...
rachel hollis quotes:
- “know this one great truth: you are in control of your own life."
- “Comparison is the death of joy, and the only person you need to be better than is the one you were yesterday.”
- “You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.”
